About me
I’m a surface pattern designer originally from New England (transitioning back there now). I love soothing color palettes with multiple shades of the same color, organic textures, a bit of irregularity and a sense of openness and movement in my designs. I enjoy making marks by hand as much as possible. Experimentation with a variety of mediums such as acrylic paint, ink, charcoal, pen and natural elements is the most fun part of my process. I’m currently designing in Adobe Illustrator.
Classic architecture and design inspire me and my work often reflects a simplified, more contemporary version of those classics. Nature is a big inspiration as well. Being a natural storyteller helps guide my creative choices while creating in collections.
I’ve always been a creative and enjoyed all sorts of arts and crafts as hobbies. Previously I was a hair stylist but longed for a change. I have some college level art training but am primarily learned design through online classes. During the pandemic I finally decided to overcome my dislike of computers and learn Adobe Illustrator, not knowing where it would take me. Turns out I love pattern design and it’s become my passion! I’ll be 52 soon and although it’s taken me several years to get to this point I’m thankful for my journey and wouldn’t change a thing.
Thanks so much for stopping by my website. Have a creative and beautiful day!
